Daniel Nealand's Too Nutty for Simon Band

Join us Sunday, June 17th for a FUNdraising event for Art of Community following the National Cohousing Conference in Oakland

Our evening’s fun includes Daniel Nealand and the “Too Nutty for Simon (Cowell)” Band, an  all-star lineup of SF Bay Area jazz players who will bring their “spontaneous musical community TLC” to a highly danceable mix of swing, bop, latin, blues, reggae, soul, and world music.

Singer/organizer Daniel Nealand–electrifies San Francisco Bay Area audiences with “Xtreme Art” multiple-octave vocal improvisations called “GonzoScat!” His unique style incorporates jazz, bop, soul, progressive rock, world, and mid-Eastern musical influences.

 

Guitarist Q Morrow–“an awesome teacher as well as an awesome musician..he plays all kinds of styles from Jazz to Spanish, Classical to Bossa Nova, Rock to East Indian Raga.”

 

Gerry Grosz–World-class vibraphonist, regarding whom JazzWest.com says “he has significantly developed his craft…the emotional range, use of color and texture so important in vibes playing, all come through.”

 

Bassist Caroline Chung–organizer of the “Citizens Jazz” collective of “some of the most talented & passionate jazz musicians in the Bay Area.

 

Al Marshall–master drummer and leader of the Al Marshall Trio, who have performed, toured and/or recorded with artists as diverse as the Jerry Garcia Band, Spearhead, George Benson, Bobby Womack, Pete Escovedo, Sheila E., Ray Obiedo, Andy Narrell, Freddie Hubbard, and Pharoah Sanders.
